Cracked Glass Tutorial

Hello friends, today and every Wednesday over at Catch The Bug is tutorial day. Today it's my turn to share with you. To be honest with you this is my first ever tutorial so go easy on me. I have decided to show you the "Cracked Glass" technique.

First you need to stamp or print out the image you would like to use- I am using "Bee Bear" from Bug-A-Boo Stamps of course!

I colored my image with Copics- E49,E25,E35,R29,Y35.

I wanted my card to have a old look to it so I distressed the edges.

Next, I covered my whole image with Versamark and then embossing powder and used my heat gun to set it. While your layer is still hot(melted), add another layer of embossing powder and heat set it again I did this 6 times. If you use thick embossing powder you do not need to do as many layers.

This is what it looks like when you are done embossing it.

Next, place your image in the freezer, I left mine in there for 15 minutes

When it comes out it will be curled on the edges, this is fine. Now the fun part happens, start to bend your image and it should crack. When it looks how you want it, finish making your card as usual.

I love this look, the only thing I would have done different is I would have stitched around my main image before I embossed it. I didn't dare use my sewing machine on it after it was embossed and cracked.
