It's my turn to do a tutorial for Catch The Bug I saw this great tutorial on Splitcoast stampers on how to make your own paper beads and I just had to try it.
You will need a paper cutter, a piece of designer paper, some toothpick, glue, glossy accents and a paint brush.

Cut your designer paper into strips the size that you would like, I decided to do somewhat small beads for this project.

Start at the larger end of the paper and roll tightly around the toothpick.  Put a dab of glue on the tip to hold it together.

Put a dab of glossy accents on a paper plate and paint the beads with a small amount. Set standing up on a cup or in a cup so the beads can dry. I let mine dry about an hour.

Add them to your card as accents.  I added mine to twine.  I am using Sock Elephant-Heart from Bug-A-Boo Stamps.  I colored with copics and the paper is from The Paper Studios.  You can find the original tutorial here.

Excellent idea, i tend to think of beads for jewellery making but making them with the same paper as your card means they will always match. i'll have to give it a go. thanks for the tip
